Wednesday's Word of Encouragement
6: in the opposite direction - face about
Have you ever come out of something that was hard? - I mean hard for days, weeks, months… When we begin to come out of that challenge it can be as if we are coming out of a fog. In this disorientation how do we orientate ourselves in order to begin to thrive again? Recently, I was reading the book of Daniel and noticed an interesting action that Daniel took after rough circumstances.
“And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it.”
~Dan. 8:27 NKJV
Daniel, turned the opposite direction of what he had been going through and did the king’s business. I would venture to say that Daniel probably did not feel like doing any work, but he still did it anyway.
Often when we come out of very challenging circumstances we do not know what to do or because we were in a fog, our own To Do list can be too hard to put on paper, BUT if we can do like Daniel and do what the King, our Father God, has for us to do - we can not only be productive, but gain strength to rise back stronger than before circumstances knocked us down.
What is the King’s business? The Bible is a great place to gain this wisdom along with simply asking God for direction. He will keep each of us busy with the plans He has for us individually. So, if today we find that we do not know what to do, bENCOURAGEd to do our King’s business and in doing so we will encourage others.
