Wednesday's Word of Encouragement
com·mit | \ kə-ˈmit \
1: to carry into action deliberately
b: to pledge or assign to some particular course or use
com·mit·ment | \ kə-ˈmit-mənt \
1a: an agreement or pledge to do something in the future
2a: an act of committing to a charge or trust:
“Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.”
~Prov. 16:3 NKJV
Our works are not working for us or anyone else unless we carry them into action - and action takes commitment. Many times we have good intentions, but then fall short of carrying them out.
How can we make the transition from intention to action?
Here are Two Tips to Commit:
We make a pledge. A pledge is typically verbalized. When we verbalize something to ourselves, and even better to another person, we are more likely to do it.
We take charge of our actions by planning for it - put a date and time to it - setting it in motion.
