HASTEN

Wednesday's Word of Encouragement

HASTEN

verb

has·ten | \ ˈhā-sᵊn \

: to move or act quickly

“A faithful man will abound with blessings,

But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

~ Prov. 28:20 NKJV

Being productive does not necessarily mean to act quickly; many times rushing things can cause productivity to be undone.

Have you ever eaten a cheese-less lasagna?

Let me explain:

I knew that our week was going to be very productive, so one Sunday evening I prepared multiple meals to be heated up throughout the week. In doing so I had set myself up in a “beat the clock” situation, because in addition to meal prepping I was helping my daughter get ready for bed, cleaning up the living room, and thinking through what I would wear the next day. While tearing the foil out of its box to cover my prepped meal I glanced down at a cheese-less lasagna. Thinking, “How could I make a cheese-less lasagna?” I realized that in all my multi-tasking I had left out a key ingredient. What I thought was being productive had produced a less than savory outcome.

When being productive it is better to be faithful than to be hasty! Slowing down and doing what is right will help us be Inspired, be Productive, be Fulfilled - bENCOURAGEd Today!
