Are you full of it?
Being “Full of it” often brings to mind someone who is full of something other than “thanks”. But thanks is something that we should be “full of”. Since that is the case an important question comes to mind - What are the best ways to fill up our "thank" tanks so that we can fulfill God's plans for our lives?
I do not have all of the answers, but here are some ideas from the Bible to consider on...
How to "Filler Up!"to be THANK - FULL...
When we wake up we should begin our morning prayer by thanking God for giving us people, ideas, concepts, possessions, provisions, and most importantly His love. The book of Psalms is full of thankFUL prayers. And if it is good enough for a king or two, David & Solomon, then why not give it a try, or even better a will, (a try is easy to break, but a will is choosing that leads to a habit). This puts us in a mindset that starts our days focused on being thankFUL.
Throughout our days we must choose to say the words, "Praise God!", or "Thank You God!" when even the smallest blessings come our way. For much of my Christian life I did not do this, thinking that it sounded super spiritual or over the top, but I had to ask myself, why would giving credit to someone, especially the Lord, be over the top. The truth is that I needed to reprogram my "thank tank" in order to be fueled by a different and powerful force. Depending on where you are in your own development you may need to speak thankFUL words often, as I did, just to overhaul your thoughts, (Prov. 18:21, James 3).
Thank- FULLness gives us perspective so that we can stay pointed in the right direction. Having a full "thank tank", does not happen on accident, but rather on purpose. Over time we are able to create a lifestyle of thanks, but even once we think that we have developed our thankFULness, we must never become complacent and remember to top off our tanks daily so that we can...
